Used to remove loose and dead hair on animals with an
undercoat, especially when malting.
Used during malting approx. once per week. During
non-malting periods, once per month (or not at all).
Comb the coat through using a KW comb,
KW card or KW brush to remove tangles.
Work on one section at a time. If your pet has long fur
or a thick undercoat, work on small
sections. Start low down on the body and work upwards.
Lift the fur up to get right down to the skin. Pull
Smart Blade gently through the fur in the direction
of growth to avoid damaging the individual hairs.
Selecting the right Smart Blade:
Coarse 8 blade: Coarse-haired breeds before a trim
Schnauzer, Terrier), very long-haired breeds
(e.g. Old English Sheepdog).
Medium 10 blade: Long-haired breeds (e.g.
Newfoundland, Leonberger, Collie, Hovawart).
Fine 12 blade: Medium-length breeds (e.g.
Golden Retriever) stock coated breeds (e.g. Alsatian,
Extra fine 16 blade: Complete trim for
dog breeds (e.g. Dachshund, Border Terrier),
short-haired breeds (e.g. Fox Terrier)
and the undercoat of Spaniels (e.g. Cocker
Extra fine 20 blade: Complete trim for coarse-haired
breeds (e.g. Schnauzer), the undercoat of Spaniels and
(e.g. Irish Setter), short-haired breeds (e.g.
Beagle) and cats.
